The Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations of the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. The tests performed and the evidence in the Comptroller's possession revealed that the purchases and disbursements made for the acquisition of goods were carried out in accordance with the applicable law and regulations.
The Medical Sciences Campus obtained its academic and administrative autonomy, within the rules provided by Act No. 1, the University of Puerto Rico Act, of 1966 and in the General Regulation of the University of Puerto Rico of 1981. The Campus has the mission of preparing health professionals with academic offerings to improve the health of citizens and strengthen patient care services. From 2016 to 2019, the Campus had revenues of $1,556,085,067 and made disbursements of $1,567,428,602, for a deficit of $11,343,535.
