The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issues a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations related to the administrative and internal controls of the Office of the Citizen's Advocate. Our auditors evaluated the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations, the reliability of the financial information, as well as compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The OPC was created by Act 134-1977 for the purpose of guaranteeing citizens fair, prompt, adequate, and bias-free treatment by the agencies of the Executive Branch. During fiscal year 2015-16, the OPC received budgetary and special allocations of $4 million and made disbursements of $3.8 million.
The Report covers the period from September 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016.
