The Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion of the fiscal operations of the Local Workforce Development Area of Ponce. The tests performed and the evidence held by the Office of the Comptroller revealed that the operations of the LWDA of Ponce were carried out, in all significant aspects, in accordance with the applicable law and regulations.
The compliance audit had the specific objective of evaluating the proposal selection and award processes. In addition, the audit examined the administration of the contracts for intensive services, training services, individual training accounts (ITA's Individual Training Accounts), and other activities related to the groups of youth, adults, and displaced workers.
Based on the work performed, no significant deficiencies were identified, and therefore the Report contains no findings.
The Local Workforce Development Area of Ponce is a consortium that provides workforce talent development activities. Its budget has risen from $2.3 in 2016, $2.8 in 2017 to $3.2 in 2018.
The report covers the period from January 1, 2015 to May 31, 2019.
