The Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations of the Northwest Local Workforce Development Area. The tests performed and the evidence examined revealed that the operations were carried out, in all significant aspects, in accordance with the applicable law and regulations.
The audit's objective was to examine whether the processes for the selection and award of proposals, and the administration of contracts related to individual training accounts (ITA's Individual Training Accounts), intensive services, training, and other related activities, were carried out in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA). Based on the work performed, no significant deficiencies related to the objectives of this Report were identified.
The Northwest Local Workforce Development Area, made up of the municipalities of Aguadilla, Aguada, Añasco, Isabela, Moca and Rincón, provides workforce talent development activities. The Local Area has had a budget of $6.6, $4.5, $5.3 and $5.6 million for fiscal years 2016 through 2019 respectively.
