The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations of the Office of the Women's Advocate. The tests performed and the evidence examined revealed that the operations were carried out, in all significant aspects, in accordance with the applicable law and regulations.
The purpose of the audit was to examine the contracts for professional and consulting services, and the contracts for the granting of funds to non-governmental organizations, to determine whether the files have the required documentation and whether the services were provided and paid for in accordance with what was contracted. Based on the work performed, no significant deficiencies related to the objectives of this Report were identified.
The Report contains a Special Comment which indicates that, for the audited period, the Advisory Council of the Office of the Women's Advocate was not constituted. The Council, as provided by the law in force, would advise the Office on matters related to women, would hold an annual congress, and would make proposals aimed at guaranteeing the enjoyment of women's human rights, among others.
The report covers the period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019.
