The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations of the Office of the Citizen's Ombudsman (OPC). The tests performed and the evidence revealed that the operations covered by this Report were carried out, in all significant aspects, in accordance with the applicable standards and regulations, and that the controls were effective.
The audit examined, as a specific objective, whether an executive assistant fulfilled the additional functions for which she received a differential, and the requirements and functions of the regional manager position, in accordance with the Position Classification and Compensation Plan for the Career Service of 2006.
Based on the work performed, no significant deficiencies related to the internal controls warranting comment in this Report were identified.
The OPC was created by means of Act 134-1977, Citizen's Ombudsman Act and for fiscal years 2017 and 2018 received budgetary allocations totaling $7,853,000.
The Report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2017.
