The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issued a favorable opinion of the fiscal operations of the Arecibo Judicial Region of the General Court of Justice. The tests performed and the evidence in the Office of the Comptroller's possession revealed that the collections and disbursements of the accounts of the regional secretary and the marshal were carried out in accordance with the applicable regulation and procedures.
The Arecibo Judicial Region was instituted by the Administrative Order of May 3, 1982, and constitutes one of the 13 regions established by Act 201-2003, of the Judiciary of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The Region is composed of and provides services to the courts of first instance of Arecibo, Barceloneta, Camuy, Ciales, Florida, Hatillo, Manatí, Morovis and Quebradillas.
For the fiscal years 2016 to 2020, the estimated budget distribution for the Arecibo Judicial Region was $59,541,596. From 2016 to 2019, the secretaries and the marshals of the Judicial Region made collections for $34,892,312 and disbursements for $32,270,204.
