The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issues a favorable opinion on the fiscal operations of the Iniciativa Tecnológica Centro Oriental, Inc., of the Municipality of Caguas.
INTECO is a nonprofit corporation registered on September 4, 2003 to achieve the economic and social development of the municipalities of the Centro Oriental Region. This region is made up of the towns of Aguas Buenas, Caguas, Cayey, Gurabo, Humacao, Juncos, Las Piedras, Naguabo, Yabucoa, San Lorenzo, and Cidra. INTECO's budget amounted to $2.7, $2.5, and $2.5 for the years 2014 through 2017, and its financial statements reflected surpluses of $7.7, $6.7, and $103,594 respectively.
The audit does not identify significant deficiencies and urges the officials and employees of INTECO to continue ensuring compliance with the applicable law and regulations and to promote the effective, economical, efficient, and ethical use of Government resources for the benefit of the citizens.
The Report covers the period from July 1, 2014 to February 28, 2017.
