The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico issues a favorable opinion on the internal controls for the administration of the security program, the logical access and the service continuity of the Information Systems Technology Section of the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Regulatory Board.
The Report does not include findings since the Board took the pertinent corrective actions. In addition, the operations subject to this audit were carried out in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations, and the internal controls were effective.
The Board was created by Act 213-1996, Puerto Rico Telecommunications Act, to establish a regulatory structure that, among others, guarantees the availability of telecommunications services at a reasonable cost to all citizens. The Board had a budget of $13.3 million in 2015, $12.6 in 2016 and $12.6 in 2017.
The Report covers the period from August 24, 2015 to October 31, 2016.
