The Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico published the result of the investigation of a complaint related to the attendance of an electrician employee of the Municipality of Lajas. The complaint alleges that, during business hours, he has visited the commercial office of the Electric Power Authority (AEE), to deliver certifications of electrical installations that he has performed for private persons.
The investigation reveals that, on 12 occasions, from October 2018 to November 2019, the electrician delivered certifications of electrical installations during business hours at the offices of the AEE at the La Quinta Shopping Center in San Germán. His attendance at his job in the Municipality for those days does not reflect leave records, nor does it have notations about unauthorized absences or deductions from his salary. This situation is contrary to the Internal Regulation on Workday and Attendance.
The investigation recommends that the Mayor instruct the personnel of the Human Resources Office to take the corresponding disciplinary actions.
