(San Juan-PR) – Within the framework of the celebration of Press Week in Puerto Rico, the Office of the Comptroller launches a new virtual space that brings together information of journalistic interest such as the results of audits and investigations, a calendar of activities, as well as related infographics and photos. Press Room, as it has been named, also offers context information that serves the purpose of coverage and oversight by the media.
“We have gathered the newest information of greatest journalistic interest in the Press Room link for quick and immediate access. We know that time is a determining factor in the dynamics of informing citizens, so we hope that this space serves to facilitate the mission of the press,” expressed the Comptroller of Puerto Rico, Yesmín M. Valdivieso.
From Press Room one can also navigate to the general portal of the Office of the Comptroller, which contains the historical record of more information, as well as access to the Contracts Registry, Position Registries, and Privatization Reports. In addition, the main web page offers space for any citizen to anonymously, and with knowledge of the misuse of public property and funds, file a complaint.
The Press Room can be accessed directly at the address ocpr.gov.pr/press-room, or from the main page ocpr.gov.pr, under the Information and Press tab.
“With this initiative we want to facilitate access to the public information generated by the Office of the Comptroller. This project also contributes to the informational transparency that must govern public administration in Puerto Rico,” indicated Valdivieso.
