The Office of the Comptroller joins in the grief
over the passing of former comptroller Ileana Colón Carlo
San Juan, P.R. – The Comptroller of Puerto Rico, Yesmín M. Valdivieso, and the personnel of the Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico expressed their deepest grief over the passing of Ileana Colón Carlo, who served as Comptroller of Puerto Rico from October 1987 to September 1997.
Colón Carlo, who was the first Comptroller of Puerto Rico, is fondly remembered for her valuable contributions to fulfilling the mission of the Office of the Comptroller with her focus on the detection of fraud.
“With an unwavering commitment, Colón Carlo offered all her experience and knowledge to the service of this Office and to the people of Puerto Rico. We will always remember her, and with great affection we pay tribute to her indelible record in public service,” Valdivieso indicated.
