The Governor of Puerto Rico, Hon. Wanda Vázquez Garced, declared a state of emergency for Puerto Rico from March 13 to 31 in the face of the alert of the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 disease. This state of emergency has been extended through April 12, 2020.
Executive Order No. OE-2020-023 orders, among other provisions, the “total closure of all governmental and private operations”. To that effect, we decided to halt the Office's operations to safeguard the health of our personnel and authorized them to perform those tasks that can be carried out remotely from home.
At the Office of the Comptroller we urge you to stay home and follow the recommendations of the Puerto Rico Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, https://www.cdc.gov.
Let us take this opportunity to thank all those people who, due to their profession, are exposed to direct contact with the COVID-19 disease, in particular medical personnel, nurses, therapists and others.
