For some time, journalists had been demanding the ability to analyze the contracts awarded by the government of Puerto Rico for the reconstruction work following Hurricane María. Today, the Office of the Comptroller announced that, in coordination with the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency (COR3), it will identify the contracts related to recovery funds with the initials CR (example: 2020-CR0014). All COR3 contracts are already identified, in the Office of the Comptroller's Contract Registry with those initials.
The Department of Housing (entity 1300), too, includes initials in the number of the recovery contracts. To identify them, they use the initials DR for Disaster Recovery (example: 2020-DR0020).
The Office of the Comptroller said it is fully willing to identify any other contract that, by its nature, should have the initials.
