We include an image summarizing the results of finding 1 of our Operational Audit of the Program of Services to the Elderly and Adults with Disabilities of the Administration of Families and Children of the Department of the Family.
The results show that the Program is not effective in handling referrals of institutional abuse of elderly persons.
For example: the organizational structure of the institutional abuse units is disjointed, lack of supervision mechanisms, lack of training for the staff of the Adult Institutional Abuse Unit of Aguadilla, absence of a computerized system in all the institutional abuse units to be able to refer and process abuse referrals, and the lack of statistical data.
