As part of the best practices and exchange of experiences to promote sound public administration and strengthen government oversight, on January 25 and 26 the Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico hosted officials from the Court of Accounts of the Republic and the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of El Salvador. This visit was coordinated with the United States Department of Justice and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the United States Department of State.
We shared information about the powers conferred on our Office, as well as our experiences and knowledge as an oversight entity. Several colleagues from the Office spoke on topics and subjects in which they currently excel, such as: audit matters, audit standards (GAGAS and internal regulations), legal advice and consultation, the subpoenaing of witnesses, investigations and fiscal intelligence, the Digital Forensic Laboratory and the handling of electronic evidence, and the results of the work and investigations in which we have participated as part of the collaboration agreements and memoranda of understanding with other oversight entities, both state and federal.

They presented the function of the Panel, the most relevant cases of government corruption, and highlighted the collaboration of the Office's personnel in most of the cases.
These exchanges and collaborations enhance the capacities for prevention and oversight of public resources, and impact and improve the quality of life of citizens.
